The geese ruled the roost at Sakonnet Golf Club on this snowy afternoon in December, with nary a golfer on the course. A light dusting of snow softened the fairways and highlighted the quiet beauty of one of Little Compton's most picturesque landmarks. Even in winter, the clubhouse's distinctive hand-painted mailbox adds a touch of character, standing as a familiar and welcoming symbol of the club. While the golf season lies dormant, the peaceful scene offers a reminder that Little Compton's charm endures long after the last round has been played.
